KANSAS WINS!!!

But, more importantly...Karen wins in the Carl house! That's right, I picked the final 4 perfectly, the final game perfectly, AND I picked the winner! Erik...? Well, first of all...I'm going to rat him out right here and tell the whole world (or at least those of you bored enough to read our blog) that he CHEATED the gods of "bracketology" by filling out TWO different brackets. That's right sports-geeks...there's no bracket-integrity for the eldest Carl boy. But, I digress...

Erik's Picks (1) (2)- How It's Done: (click the links 1-2)
Many of you know that Erik is like the King of just about all sports trivia, statistics and just plain odd facts. So, he watches all the sports shows (okay, not all...he's certainly cut down from his single days...which I TOTALLY appreciate!) and reads all the info on the players, the coaches...the "programs" (yeah, that's the team to the rest of us) and carefully weighs the bracketology and even prays over it, I think. Then...he makes his selection...or in this case, selectionS. As the games go on, he even has special colors that HAVE to be used to mark who's won, who's lost, and who's advancing (oh, and don't even try to hand him some other color pen/highlighter to use!!! tragedy may strike his picks!). So, all of this is weighed carefully and he settles in for the month of March with brackets and highlighters in hand (and btw, when did "March Madness" start spilling over into April? It's a conspiracy against wives everywhere..."Honey, it's just a couple weeks in March!" NOT!). (

Karen's Picks - How It's Done: (click the link)
In an effort to connect with my husbie, I will fill out A...ONE...UNO...bracket in order to hold at least a little interest in the month of March...b/c before this came along, I found March utterly depressing! Sometimes I put a little thought into it, but really I don't b/c I more want to prove the point that all this pontificating and pondering and statistics mongering, really doesn't make a bit of difference. So, this year, I decided to take a VERY clinical approach to the whole thing...

I picked all the highest numbers in the brackets...whatever round it was. Therefore, I managed to have all of the Final Four team match-ups correct...I had the final game match-up correct, AND...[drumroll please]...I picked the winner as Kansas! Erik did not have the Final Four 100% correct, and didn't pick the correct final game, and oh, right...did not pick the NCAA Tournament Champion.

Placement out of 671 entries:
Karen = 22
Erik 1 = 121
Erik 2 = 579

So, all you sports-March/April-Madness geeks out there...let this be a lesson to you. Spend more time with your wives in March (and April and May...if it goes that long next year!).

Additional Note:
Has anyone besides me noticed that Roy Williams (coach of UNC and former coach of the winning JayHawks) looks like Droopy Dog?
